WHAT DOES MAZDA AC MAINTENANCE INCLUDE?
July 16 2022 - Mazda of Wesley Chapel

Your Mazda vehicle is a pretty cool car — but it still needs air conditioning for those times when you want to be chill. To keep it working properly, you might need auto AC maintenance in Wesley Chapel. At our Mazda dealership, we’re happy to help you stay cool.

Signs Your Car’s AC May Need Service

While sweating while driving is a good indication your air conditioner (AC) might not be performing the way it should, there are three official ways to tell if you might need to have service on the system.

Warm Air from Blowers: If you’ve got the AC blasted, but only hot hair is flowing from all the vents, then something is amiss. If you are feeling some cool air, but it’s taking forever for the temperature to drop, that’s a red flag, too. Our service technicians can diagnose the issue and get you back in the cool zone.

Odd Smells: Imagine smelling a strange scent from your blower. If the air coming from the vents smells stale and a little pungent, it’s time for an inspection.

Irregular Noises: Unusual noises coming from your car are often a sign of distress. If the AC is making any sound other than a blowing fan, it’s time to make a service appointment online.

Air Conditioner Parts and Fixes

The air conditioner in your car is comprised of multiple parts, such as the compressor, condenser, receiver dryer, evaporator, hoses, and charging ports. There’s also a refrigerant, a mixture that transforms hot air into cold air.

All these elements need to be in working order for your AC to perform as it should. Some of the more common fixes for when the system isn’t working properly include:

  • Exchanging and recharging the refrigerant
  • Cleaning out the condenser
  • Checking for and repairing leaks
  • Replacing the compressor belt

If you’re worried about your A/C, we can do a quick inspection to make sure everything is working as it should. We even offer service specials for Mazda vehicles here at Mazda of Wesley Chapel, so we can help keep your maintenance costs low.
