The 2018 Camry comes with a choice of two different engines available in three drivetrain configurations: 4-cylinder, 6-cylinder and 4-cylinder hybrid. The base 2.5L 4-cylinder powerplant does its job quietly and efficiently while providing 206 horsepower. Thusly equipped, the 2018 camry is rated at 29 mpg in the city and an astonishing 41 mpg on the highway. The EPA has not released estimates for the hybrid version of the Camry (which utilizes a less powerful version of the same engine, supplemented by electric motors) but expect it to be even better. A more powerful V6 engine is also available for those who want faster acceleration and effortless passing power. The 3.5L unit powering the previous generation has been worked over and now produces 301 horsepower. For both non-hybrid engines, power is sent to the front wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. The Camry is available in five basic trims, L, LE, SE, XLE and XSE.
