Reviews:
* Compact agility; great fuel economy; supremely easy to park; lots of style inside and out; clever interior packaging. Source: Edmunds
* If you live in a crowded place where you need to fight for a parking space, the iQ is worth its weight in gold. This Scionâ??s fuel efficiency, residual value, and the reliability record of its Toyota parent are also alluring. Source: KBB.com
* Dont let size of the 2014 Scion iQ fool you. This little car is loaded with big features, all within a modern, intelligent design. The iQ is a 3 door hatchback that takes up minimal space and is perfect for urban environments, parking in tight spaces, and just getting out for fun drives on the open road. Its size allows for U-turns in spaces that would require a three-point turn for most cars. The iQ runs on a 1.3-Liter, 4-Cylinder, 94 Horsepower engine that is paired with a CVT automatic transmission. With an EPA estimated 36 MPG city and 37 highway, this is the ideal car for the gas conscientious. Inside, you will get to enjoy such amenities as the 50/50 split fold-flat rear seats that help you further utilize the space of the car. A leather trimmed tilt steering with audio controls ensure you will not have to take your hands off the wheel when you want to change a song. Other standard features include air conditioning, an ECO-Driving Indicator, remote keyless entry, a multi-information display, and more. New for 2014, the Pioneer Standard Display Audio System gives you great sound and a 6.1-inch touchscreen. You also get an auxiliary audio jack, and a USB port with iPod connectivity. However, you can upgrade to the available Pioneer BeSpoke Premium audio system. It also has a touchscreen, but adds GPS navigation, access to thousands of Internet radio stations, social media like Facebook and Twitter, and the ability to recognize 33 voice commands for navigation, media, and your phone. Additional accessories available by Scion include such items as a rear spoiler, paint protection film for the hood and front bumper, mudguards, fog lights, illuminated door sills, and 16-inch 8 spoke alloy wheels. The 2014 iQ also packs an array of safety features including anti-lock brakes, vehicle stability control, traction control, electronic brake-force distribution, and smart stop technology which reduces engine power to help stop the vehicle when braking. The Scion iQ is tiny, with a wheelbase of just 78.7 inches. However, it's amazing what Toyota engineers have been able to pack into that minimal allotted space. Up front is a 94-hp 1.3L inline-4-cylinder with variable valve timing. The unit is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that can propel the iQ to 60 mph in just under 12 seconds. More importantly, the iQ returns 36 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway. The iQ rides on 16-inch steel wheels, which are suspended by MacPherson struts up front and a torsion beam in the rear. Braking is courtesy of ventilated front discs and rear drums. Seating for four is technically possible, but the rear 50/50 split-folding seats are often better suited to carrying a small payload. Cargo capacity is 16.7 cubic feet of space with the seats down. Front seating, on the other hand, is quite ample, with nearly 41 inches of leg room. Standard exterior features include keyless entry, a rear wiper and folding side mirrors with turn signal indicators. Inside there are standard amenities such as air conditioning, 4-way front seats, outside temperature gauge and power locks, mirrors and windows, with driver and passenger one-touch auto up/down. Also included is a leather-wrapped tilt steering wheel with audio controls, a 160-watt Pioneer CD stereo with 6.1-inch LCD touchscreen controls, auxiliary audio and USB inputs and Bluetooth hands-free connectivity. Optional equipment for the iQ includes exterior body moldings and rear spoiler, fog lights, special door sill overlays and illumination, interior lighting, Toyota Racing Development sport suspension components and alloy wheels. A special-edition "10 Series" iQ is outfitted in Silver Ignition paint, with illuminated front and rear badging, an upgraded Pioneer audio system, special silver interior details, and 16-inch alloy wheels. As in all Scions, safety has been made a high priority in the iQ. The car includes eleven airbags, anti-lock brakes with electronic brake distribution, traction control, stability control and a tire pressure monitor.
